Why St.Julian’s Is Your Best Bet If Visiting Malta!
Well we think the question should be, why wouldn’t you stay at St. Julian’s?! It’s the best place visiting Malta for all of the action. Here are 10 reasons you should stay in St. Julian’s for an exciting and varied Maltese break:

St. Julian’s has a great selection of beaches for sunbathing and also a healthy offering of luxury hotels with rejuvenating spa facilities – exactly what you need to start your holiday in the right frame of mind.
2. An Abundance Of Places To Eat
You can find every kind of cuisine in St. Julian’s, from seafood restaurants with fresh locally caught fish, to pizzerias, sushi bars, pasta restaurants, fine dining… anything you’re looking for, even a good curry! Sharma has been named the best Indian Restaurant for a meal with friends; the food is fantastic and there’s a great atmosphere inside with live music every evening, or you can sit outside on the sunny terrace overlooking the waterfront for lunch.
3. Drink At Your Own Pace
There is a bar to suit every kind of mood in St.Julian’s and it’s the perfect place for anyone that loves a well-mixed cocktail. There’s the hippy Juuls, creative Electro Lobster Project for great cocktails, City of London bar for a chilled, classy atmosphere, Tiffany’s for a touch of luxury and Thirsty Barber for live music. Once you’ve had a few nights of St. Julian’s bar hopping, you can also explore Gzira which is 10 minutes away by bus – we recommend visiting Black Sheep, Black Gold, Medasia, and Funky Monkey.
4. Shop Till You Drop
Sliema is a short hop on the bus, or if you are feeling active you could walk. It’s packed with a wide variety of shops including big brand names, and the Tigne Point mall. If you don’t fancy the journey, St.Julian’s has its own small shopping complex called Bay Street.
5. Grab A Coffee
There are plenty of coffee shops in Sliema if you need a little pick me up after exploring too many bars. The locals love Giorgio’s Caffeteria.
6.Walk The Coastline
The seafront is ideal for early morning walks and fresh air, taking in the beautiful views or even going for a refreshing run.
7. Travel Connections
Buses are plentiful and frequent in St. Julian’s, meaning you can easily get to neighbouring towns Sliema, Gzira and Paceville but also to the capital city Valletta, where you’ll find museums and landmarks to explore. You can also take a ferry to Valletta from Sliema, which is often quicker than the bus in busy times!
8. Party In Paceville
Paceville is known as the party hub of Malta and is very popular with the younger crowds looking for clubs and dance music until the early hours of the morning. There are lots of nightclubs to explore on every night of the week, but the weekend is the best time to go.
9. Your Choice Of Beaches
Depending on what you’re looking for, you have a choice of beaches and facilities. There’s St.George’s sandy beach in St.Julians and rocky beaches such as Exiles and Surfside on the way to Sliema. These are ideal for swimming, but there is also plenty of opportunity to try adrenaline fuelled water sports.
10. St. Julian’s Sightseeing
The town was established in the 16th century and is steeped in history, so you can find some good places to explore Maltese culture and take some holiday snaps. Look for Lapsi Church, Spinola Palace and the very impressive St Julian’s Parish Church that overlooks Balluta Bay.
All in all, a week or two staying in St. Julian’s will leave you feeling well-travelled, relaxed and like you’ve been able to let your hair down too!
